Important Information Upcoming Events: Blood Drive Saturday April 20th Operation Graduation Blood Drive will be held this Saturday, April 20th in the high school cafeteria from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. For every person who attempts to give blood, Meijers will donate $10.00 to Operation Graduation. Please contact Heather Tysick if you have any questions at 989.325.6160. Thank you! Taco Dinner/Silent Auction/Bake Sale Friday, April 26th from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m at the Moose Lodge. Tickets are $5.00 per person, and $7.00 at the door - Kids 5 years and younger eat free If you would like to purchase a ticket, please contact any of the committee officers. There will be a silent auction and bake sale. We are looking for parents who can donate baked goods and items for the silent auction. Please contact Kim or Jerry Thorp if you are able to help. Car Wash Fundraiser Saturday, May 11th at Howard Bell. The exact time of the car wash will be announced soon. We are looking for students of the graduating class to also come out and help with this event. It should be a fun day! Upcoming Meetings: There will be a brief meeting following the Taco Dinner on April 26th at the Moose Lodge, and then Operation Graduation will meet EVERY Thursday up to graduation at the Brentwood at 6:00 p.m. Reminder: Please save your VG receipts and your pharmacy share points as well. You may turn these in to Kim Thorp or put in any of the cans that are in local businesses in town. For more information on VG receipts, please contact Kim Thorp at 989.672.4079. REMINDER TO PARENTS: Operation Graduation is a fun evening that is planned for your graduate. Without your help, and the help from the community, this event could not be possible. We are encouraging all parents to get involved, whether it is to help make phone calls, plan a fundraiser, or just help with collecting donations and buying gifts. On May 30, 2013, the Caro High School Class of 2013 will participate in their graduation ceremony. Following the ceremony, Operation Graduation 2013 will be held at the Brentwood to provide a school-sanctioned, safe, and alcohol/drug free celebration. This event will celebrate the graduating students and the journey they have made through our community, our schools, and our families. The Operation Graduation event will provide food, games, activities, and prizes to all graduates in attendance. As in years past, Ken Beachy has generously offered to close the Brentwood to the public from 10:00 PM to 2:00 AM and make it available to our graduates for this event. We are asking for community support for this event. We need cash donations to fund the overall expenses and to purchase gifts. We are also seeking donations of merchandise to be given as prizes. Our goal is to have every graduate in attendance receive a gift valued at $50.00 or more. Suggestions include: small appliances, gift cards, certificates for services useful to a young adult, and of course, cash which will be used to purchase items of the type. |
