FYI: All other offices will re-open for the 2008-09 school year on Tuesday, August 12, 2008. (McComb, Schall, Middle School, High School)
ATTENTION STUDENTS:
This summer, we will be doing general maintenance and making upgrades to our network servers. Therefore, as of Thursday, June 5th, anything that students have stored on their "P Drive" through Novell will be deleted as normal summer maintenance. Students should back up or copy anything they want to save before Thursday, June 5th.
Also, with the many different programs that students are now able to log in to, we are trying to consolidate usernames & passwords to as many of these programs as we have control over so students will only have to remember one username and one password. Over the summer, your username and password for Novell (your network login), Gaggle (your school provided email account), Skyward Student Access (your student information, homework, attendance, grades, etc), and Career Cruising (a career planning program for Middle School and High School students) will be changed.
The new scenario for your username/login will be the first five letters of your last name followed by the first four letters of your first name. This would be all lower case with no spaces.
Example: Jason Smith
LOGIN: smithjaso
If you do not have five letters in your last name and/or four letters in your first name, you would use your whole name as follows:
Example: Jan Doe
LOGIN: doejan
Example: Janet Doe
LOGIN: doejane
Your password on all of these accounts will be set to your lunch pin number (four digit number used to purchase lunches).
The only program which will be available for you to log in to this summer will be Skyward. As changing these usernames and passwords to make it more convenient for students will be an on-going project this summer, if you have trouble logging in to Skyward using either your old login and password or the new scenario above, email Carla Knowlton at carla@caro.k12.mi.us. As of September 2, 2008 (the first day of school), all logins and passwords for Novell, Gaggle, Skyward & Career Cruising will be changed to the new scenario above. We hope this will make it easier for students to remember!

ATTENTION PARENTS THAT USE SKYWARD FAMILY ACCESS:
In an effort to reduce postage, paper cost and the time involved in mailing report cards, parents now have the option of viewing and/or printing report cards from Family Access instead of receiving a "hard copy" in the mail.
Even though with Family Access, you have the option of looking at your child's grades on a continuous basis with "real-time" information, you can also click on the "Report Card" link at the left and view or print their report card.
Therefore, if you DO NOT WANT to receive report cards in the mail any longer, please email the building secretary at the building that your child attends (email listed below) and in the message area, type: I no longer wish to receive a hard copy report card for: and then list your child's name and grade.
Thank you for helping us to save funds and paper!
